About us

Bethalto Church of God...
began its strong pentecostal heritage as a result of the world changing Azuzu Street Revival in California. in 1929, Members of the church had moved to East Alton Due to the mines closing, with the vision of reaching people for christ IN THE METRO EAST AREA. What started as a store front building in 1929, moved to a small church in 1931. AS They CONTINUED TO GROW, the powerful move of God that was on the church reached many people. Outgrowing the building on Pence street, the church bought property on route 111 in Bethalto WHERE They built a new church and parsonage. The church kept growing spiritually and physically and they added on to the building in 1982.

In 1994, the church had to move because of the clear zone for the new airport and a new church was built at route 140 and Moreland road and moved the parsonage to that site. The church has continued to grow Both physically and spiritually and had to expand the facilities once more. Today our facilities consist of a sanctuary that will seat 500; children and youth worship centers; a family life center that consists of a gymnasium for sports and banquets and the main kitchen for the church; there are multiple classrooms, a fireside room for small groups and meetings, a cafe, a nursery area and preschool care area.

The core values of the original 13 people has grown and blossomed into the church we are today. Throughout the years, Bethalto Church of God continues to see life changing services and revivals. a strong desire to reach the next generations through youth and children's programs through the years has resulted in many son's and daughter's that have gone into the ministry. At Bethalto Church of God, we are known for our love and compassion, music, worship services and prayer. The vision of 13 people has grown through the 90 YEARS, AND CONTINUES TO LIGHT THE WAY.
